Startup India represents a significant initiative launched by the Government of India. This campaign was initially introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address on August 15, 2015.
The initiative's action plan emphasizes three key areas:
Simplification and Handholding, Funding Support, and Incentives.
Its primary objective is to stimulate a vibrant startup culture and establish a robust and inclusive ecosystem that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship throughout India.
Through the Startup India initiative, qualifying enterprises can obtain recognition as Startups from the DPIIT, thereby gaining access to various tax incentives, simplified compliance procedures, expedited intellectual property rights processing, and additional benefits. According to the Startup India Action Plan, startups that conform to the criteria outlined in G.S.R. notification 127 (E) are permitted to seek recognition under this program. Applicants are required to submit supporting documentation at the time of their application.
